Job Description

The Porter plays a key role in the successful execution of events by handling the setup and teardown of the venue. This includes moving and arranging furniture such as tables and chairs placing dcor and preparing any other event-specific items. Setups may take place before during or after events including overnight shifts as needed. The Porter is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness organization and overall readiness of the venue throughout operational and non-operational hours.

This role requires physical stamina attention to detail and strong collaboration with the event and service teams. The ideal candidate is reliable efficient and takes pride in keeping the venue looking its best at all times.

The Day to Day:

  • Execute full venue setup according to event plans and client specifications ensuring all details- large and small-are completed accurately
  • Ensure venue is fully prepared for early morning events if you are the last team member on-site the previous night
  • Lead or support setup teams to complete tasks efficiently and to standard
  • Safely lift move and position both heavy and light items in a timely manner
  • Complete thorough tear-down of event setups ensuring the space is cleared clean and restored to O&B standards
  • Maintain ongoing cleanliness and organization of the venue during and between events
  • Follow all Health & Safety protocols and workplace regulations
  • Receive log and notify management of all deliveries from clients and couriers
  • Greet clients at the loading dock assist with loading/unloading and escort them as needed
  • Support service staff as needed during events and collaborate as part of the broader team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required

Qualifications :

  • Available to work mornings evenings weekends and/or occasional overnight shifts
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a variable work load ensuring safe timely and accurate completion of assigned work
  • Able to work independently and part of a team
  • Able to listen and follow clear directions
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Dependable and Goal oriented
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
