If so Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking a Health and Human Sciences Educator to join our Food & Health team supporting communities in southwest Iowa! This position will be classified as a Human Sciences Extension Specialist I.
What Youll Do:
Deliver priority food and nutrition programs both in-person and virtually.
Use innovative teaching methods to meet a variety of educational needs.
Partner with county staff and community groups to promote nutrition education.
Support professional development around food and nutrition programming.
Help secure grants and resources for nutrition initiatives.
Engage with community partners to support food-related outreach and coalitions.
Build and maintain networks focused on nutrition and health.
Represent Health and Human Sciences Extension and Outreach in local coalitions and boards related to food systems and wellness.
Document nutrition program impacts via success stories and impact emails.
Use data tools to plan and evaluate nutrition programming.
The southwest Iowa region includes Adams Cass Fremont Mills Montgomery Page Pottawattamie - East Pottawattamie - West Ringgold Taylor and Union counties. The primary office location for this position will be an extension office in the state of Iowa and the location will be dependent on the successful candidate and office availability. Travel will be required in this position.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Health and Human Sciences Extension and Outreach providesresearch-based information and education to help families make decisions that improve their lives. As the outreach arm of the College of Health and HumanSciences faculty and staff work together with specialists located across Iowas 99 counties to translate university research to practicefor localindividuals families employers and communities.
