Job Summary
Search for Common Ground is an international peacebuilding organisation with activities in 35 countries to prevent and end violent conflict and to build healthy safe and just societies all over the world. The Belgian entity is an international AISBL with 30 staff based in our Brussels office and 600 colleagues across the globe 90% of whom are locals to the places where we implement our peacebuilding work.
Department/Team Summary
The Finance and Administration Department of Search for Common Ground (Search) is seeking an intern in the Brussels office starting in October 2025. Candidates must be enrolled in an internship program at university during the internship and available for at least 30 hours per week for a period of three to six months.
Main responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support including document management scheduling meeting preparation and internal communications.
- Assist with maintaining databases and digital files while supporting logistics such as supplies mail and event preparation.
- Collaborate with the Brussels team and other departments on ad hoc projects applying company tools (Google Workspace HR/ERP systems etc.)
- Coordinate administrative procedures with external institutions (embassies Ministry of Foreign Affairs notaries sworn translators) including booking appointments preparing submitting and retrieving official documents.
Requirements
- Current student in Human Resources (HR) Office Management / Business Administration or equivalent
- Good level of English and French
- Good command of Google Workspace (Gmail Docs Sheets Slides Forms Calendar)
- Strong organisational interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Interest in event organisation
- Self-motivated adaptable and comfortable working in a multicultural team environment

Duration: The intern should be able to commit to working for Search for Common Ground by preference for at least a 3-month initial period.
Internship requirement: This internship should be part of an internship programme of the university.
This internship is unpaid; a small stipend will be provided to cover food and transport costs.
Location: Brussels Belgium
