TITLE:Software Engineer with an ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship) is REQUIRED
RATE RANGE: $54/hr - $67/hr W2 **depends on experience and benefits chosen**
LOCATION: Onsite in Aurora CO 80011 (no relocation package)
DURATION: 12 month contract or contract to hire
CLEARANCE: Active Secret Security Clearance

Our client provides end-to-end space solutions - from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors - to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows ground stations need to evolve and this role you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in Java.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications for satellite ground systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design and implement robust server-side solutions.
Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
Conduct software design and code reviews integrating best practices and innovations.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
Participate in system integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
Keep abreast of advancements in Java and related technologies to drive continuous innovation.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Modern DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
Software lifecycle practices for defense projects.
The importance and workings of satellite ground systems.
REQUIREMENTS
A bachelors degree in science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and two (2) years of relevant software engineering experience.
Experience with Java software development in a Linux environment .
Experience developing software in an Agile and/or DevOps environments.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor Degree Preferred
PREFERRED SKILLS
Java strongly preferred.
Experience with C and Python.
Experience working with the Atlassian Tool suite.
Previous work satellite GPS software desirable.
Experience troubleshooting or debugging software.
Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts.
Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management planning and scheduling command and telemetry satellite operations or flight dynamics models
