SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The staff pastor reinforces the mission and vision of Antioch Waco through pastoral leadership and care of its staff/members. They provide leadership to our team through modeling of our values and Christlike character; through encouragement and investment into Antioch movement leaders; and through support to the global vision of Antioch.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Antioch Waco.
- Assists other staff members when needed to support teamwork and contribute to the successful completion of their objectives and strategies.
- Basic personal responsibilities:
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with Jesus through committed time to the Word worship and prayer.
- Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
- Faithfull support the ministries of Antioch Waco by maintaining wise stewardship of measures over the resources entrusted to you.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Antioch Waco (Colossians 3:23-24)
- Teach the Word of God according to Antiochs doctrinal statement and topical position papers.
ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide pastoral care to Antioch Waco staff and church members through phone calls and visits with special emphasis on opportunities to express empathy and care in special moments in peoples lives.
- Follow up with women (primarily) that Shannon and Laura identify that need help with connection to the Lord our church or urgent pastoral care
- Follow up with women that Vincent/Heather identify from pastoral care form that need help with connection to the Lord our church and/or urgent pastoral care
- Attend Tuesday am staff meetings to increase relationship with staff minister to them and stay connected to church vision and processes
- Intentional introduction and connection to families at church on Sundays and also at events out in the community (school related etc.)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities of permanent staff.
MINISTERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Below are common ministerial functions associated with this position qualifying it to be classified as ministerial under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Administers the sacraments
- Conducts religious worship
- Management responsibilities at Antioch Waco
- Ordained commissioned or licensed
- Considered to be a religious leader by Antioch Waco
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Five years of pastoral experience required.
