Job Description

Job Title: Head of Quality Risk and Safety

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

Reporting to: CEO

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide expert knowledge and leadership in managing the development implementation and monitoring of an effective evidence-based quality and risk management system. This will be delivered through a programme of risk and incident management quality assurance accreditation compliance and continuous improvement. The role is anchored in our guiding principles which promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission Vision and Values.

Essential Qualifications

  • A higher degree in a healthcare discipline

Desirable Qualifications

  • MSc Degree
  • Risk Management
  • Project Management
  • Lean / Six Sigma

Essential Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years management experience in healthcare.
  • Previous experience in Quality Improvement and / or Risk Management.
  • Have an effective track record of achievement in a large complex organisation in either private or public sector

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience/ knowledge of JCI Quality Accreditation System or similar
  • Have experience of working and delivering results through cross-divisional working at managerial level

Essential Skills Competencies and/or Knowledge

  • Demonstrated effective leadership in a challenging environment
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for strategic thinking coupled with leadership skills and the ability to motivate and lead specialist professionals

Managing and Delivering Results:

  • Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organising skills including awareness of resource management and importance of value for money
  • Demonstrate evidence of proven facilitation skills
  • Show a strong sense of self-sufficiency

Influencing to achieve:

  • Be flexible team orientated and a relationship builder with a significant proven track record
  • Demonstrate leadership and team management skills including the ability to work in the multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate project management skills

Communication:

  • Have a capacity to lead organise and motivate staff
  • Possess the interpersonal skills to facilitate effective team dynamics
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Personal Commitment and Motivation:

  • Be driven by an internal value system compatible with Bon Secours Mission Vision and Values
  • Demonstrate a patient/service user centred approach to provision of health and personal social services

Desirable Skills Competencies and/or Knowledge

  • Demonstrate ability to lead an organisation-wide CQI programme.
  • Evidence of building a culture of safety
  • Knowledge of Data Assessment & Analysis including trending forecasting.
  • Ability to produce concise reports / reporting tools to support audit / KPI Data Management function.
