The General Manager will oversee the operations and employees of Natures Wonders. They will work to establish efficient processes and procedures increase the performance and volume of the store as well as build and lead an effective & enthusiastic team of associates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Implements daily operations including customer service overseeing cleanliness of the store and assigning tasks as needed.
Maintains an exceptional level of customer service making the final call on returned merchandise or other customer matters collaborating with owners and team to create and maintain a store culture that cultivates a positive work environment as well as an exceptional shopping experience for the customer.
Stays actively involved ensuring each department lead follows budget guidelines keeping inventory accurate keeping workstations clean and organized and staying current on standard operating procedures.
Manages issues and maintenance related to refrigerators freezers and all other equipment complete daily deposits and bookkeeping as needed work with Database Coordinator to identify and resolve any point-of-sale issues that may arise.
Directs and coaches team hires and oversees training of new hires sets work schedules and distributes to staff reviews time off requests place employees at different stations depending on the needs of the day. Ensures team is cross-trained and delegate tasks as needed when store is not busy.
Partners with Human Resources as needed on associate matters. Enters documentation in Workday.
Facilitates and speaks at monthly staff meetings. Ensures that the team is up to date on all required communication through email and stand-up meetings.
Motivates and encourages team coaches on performance and administers annual performance evaluations.
Establishes and monitors sales goals sales reporting and spending data to set department budgets.
Sets goals and with creative ideas to incentivize department leads for hitting or exceeding goals identifying areas of budget and sales that need attention and/or improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Identifies ways to improve function creating and documenting new policies and procedures.
Acquires Leadership training as necessary to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
Plans and executes store marketing efforts to identify best use for marketing budget. Collaborates with social media marketing team meet with advertising representatives as needed and oversee monthly/seasonal displays and dcor with marketing collateral.
Collaborates with store leadership partakes in quarterly meetings coordinates monthly sales and marketing with other location(s) exchanges ideas and shares creative efforts communicates with other location leadership as needed.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Years of experience: 10 years in retail or 5 years in Retail Management
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Exceptional customer service skills
Outstanding leadership abilities
Thorough understanding of retail functions
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimal travel required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular computer work walking and standing.
Occasional sitting and lifting up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
