Position Summary
The laboratory of Associate Professor Scott Canfield at Indiana University School of Medicine Terre Haute is seeking a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a pioneering research project within the framework of our recently NIH funded Micro physiological Systems to Advance Precision Medicine for Alzheimers Disease and Related Dementias ( MAP -AD). This innovative and multidisciplinary project aims to develop brain oganoids derived from human iPSCs- to study vascular dysfunction in Alzheimers disease and related dementias. Project Overview Leveraging newly developed brain organoid models this project will: Utilize human iPSC lines from AD patients to develop multiple tiered brain organoid models. Investigate vascular dysfunction and neuroinflammation in three-dimensional cellular models Utilize cutting-edge techniques including confocal microscopy physiological and shear flow and artificial intelligence systems to enable functional phenotyping of the MAP -AD models. Improve translational micro physiological systems models to improve AD outcomes. IUSM is committed to being a welcoming campus community and we seek candidates whose research teaching and community engagement efforts contribute to robust learning and working environments for all students staff and faculty. We invite individuals who will join us in our mission to improve health equity and well-being for all throughout the state of Indiana.
