Job Summary
The Bloomfield Schools Attendance Liaison is dedicated to working with all families with the purpose of addressing barriers to regular attendance improving communication between schools and families and supporting culturally responsive outreach.
This position will help bridge cultural gaps provide consistent follow-up with families and collaborate with school staff and community partners to ensure that students attend school regularly and are supported in overcoming attendance-related challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily and monthly attendance data using PowerSchool and Edia
- Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians and their student(s)
- Communicate with students and families through phone calls letters in-person meetings and home visits to discuss attendance concerns and encourage school engagement
- Collaborate with family liaison school counselors administrators and social workers to develop and implement individualized attendance intervention plans.
- Provide culturally appropriate interventions and referrals
- Maintain accurate up-to-date and confidential records of student attendance interventions in compliance with FERPA and district guidelines.
- Partner with tribal organizations and community agencies to support families
- Provide information about school policies and resources including the New Mexicos Attendance for Success Act and the importance of regular school attendance Participate in Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings attendance team meetings truancy hearings and other related district or community-based meetings related to duties and responsibilities
- Support and promote districtwide attendance initiatives incentive programs and awareness campaigns.
- Provide regular reports and updates on attendance trends and intervention outcomes to district leadership
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in social work education behavioral science or a related field preferred
- Experience working in schools or with youth and families preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Navajo) preferred
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel between school sites and community locations within the Bloomfield School District boundaries
- Occasional home visits and flexible scheduling including some evening or weekend hours may be required
- Work involves driving sitting walking and interacting with staff students and families in a variety of settings
