Pay rate : $350.00 hr (1099)

Locations:Columbia SC
Schedule:
VA Business Hours:8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday. On-call 4:30 pm to 8:00 am weekdays. Weekend call: 4:30pm Friday to 8:00am Monday.
Off-hours Coverage: 4:30pm to 8:00am weekdays. Weekend call begins at 4:30pm Friday and end at 8:00am Monday. Must make the contractors physician(s) available on-call during all hours when the facility clinic is closed including evenings weekends and holidays. Call is assigned per week.
Description:
Board Certified Radiologists. Abdominal/GU Breast Imaging Cardiovascular General Interventional Musculoskeletal Neuroradiology and Authorized User (AU) Radiology Physician Services on site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Qualifications:
License: Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.
All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contractors physician(s) who have current full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states but who have or ever had a license restricted suspended revoked voluntarily revoked voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract. All licenses held by contractor must be current and in good standing.
Board Certification: Shall beBoard Certified per the American Board of Radiology( All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times. Documentation verifying current certification shall be provided by the Contractor to the VA COR on an annual basis for each year of contract performance.
Standards of Care: Shall cover the range of Interventional Radiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by:
Direct Patient Care: Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. Contractor shall be responsible for:
Scope of Care:Shall be responsible for providing general and interventional Radiology procedures including but not limited:
Clinic: Shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the scheduled start time.
Communication of Test Results: Mechanisms must be in-place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.
Consultation Responsibilities: Shall provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for general ultrasound CT MRI nuc med and IR radiologic procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done.
Medications:Shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
Discharge education: Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
ADMINISTRATIVE: estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care
Quality Improvement Meetings: The contractors physician(s) shall participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service Chief of Staff or designee.
Staff Meetings:Shall attend staff meetings as required by the facility Chief of Service Chief of Staff or designee. Contractor to communicate with COR on this requirement and report any conflicts that may interfere with compliance with this requirement.
Peer Reviews: Shall perform on-going peer reviews for approximately four hours per month.
Specialized Meetings:Shall prepare for attend and take care of follow up activities resulting from the following specialized meetings: List all meetings associated time and frequency.
QA/QI documentation:Shall complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures complications and outcome of examinations.
Patient Safety Compliance and Reporting: Shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Contractors physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors falls and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care. All events related to patient injury medication errors and other breeches of patient safety shall be documented in the medical record of those impacted and disclosed to the patient or surrogate. As soon as practicable (but within 24 hours) Contractors shall notify COR of incident and submit an entry in the VA Patient Safety Reporting System following up with COR as required or requested.
