BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
This job is field based (Jamshoro District Sindh) and the job holder will directly report and work under the supervision of the Programme Policy Officer Nutrition under the overall guidance of Head of Provincial Office WFP Sindh.
Job holders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. They are typically involved in programme or policy activities and/or analytical work of limited complexity.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide support to implement the project activities in the areas of nutrition that effectively support WFP efforts to upscale nutrition with particularly focus on CMAM CMAM Surge and BISP Nashonuma Implementation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
towards the development of a limited number of projects plans and processes ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme-TSFP CMAM Surge)
as the focal point to respond to the queries related to project protocols and android based application.
the logbook of identified issues and quires responded
the capacity building of WFP staff partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives and compile the capacity
data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained
other duties in line with the position level and expertise.
OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
coordinate on regular basis with all nutrition and other relevant stakeholders to develop the synergies and partnerships for successful implementation of CMAM Surge at the district level.
in maintaining coordination with the District Health Management Team (DHMT) /TWG/District Nutrition Coordination Committee to ensure smooth implementation of CMAM Surge capacity Strengthen and establishment of the model as per guidelines.
and facilitate the training for the district and health facility staff on CMAM Surge and CMAM
and facilitate the monitoring visit of district stakeholders to the project sites.
technical guidance to health facility staff in the process of establishing thresholds for each health facility and facilitate in endorsement process at District level.
CMAM Surge set up established as per the guidelines contextualized in context of Pakistan.
close coordination with the selected Cooperating Partner to ensure that all the activities at the District level are well coordinated.
the specific area of responsibility ensure compilation of data and support analysis and preparation of reports in order to support operational decision-making.
as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.
support in undertaking various surveys at the District level.
the teams in finalization of user friendly CMAM Surge dashboard at district level.
information records and monitoring plan documentation such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
guidance to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks.
periodic monitoring trips to the project sites including random monitoring checks on Cooperating Partners (CPs) activities and report progress using standard monitoring tools.
in partnerships with potential stakeholders through the MOUs/agreements for achieving desired objectives of the activities implemented.
active support in coordination with respective district authorities and counterpart.
in drafting of timely analytical and periodic reports to further share with country office team and other coordinating platforms.
project operations support to Nutrition Cash Transfer Programme to eligible Households.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
All Cooperating Partner staff trained and mentored on quality and guidelines of CMAM surge
All Facilitation centres monitored and regularly visited to ensure quality
Monthly meetings with stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
First University Degree in social sciences public health/Nutrition Project management development studies public/business administration in any one of these disciplines or equivalents.
Experience:
Minimum experience of 6 years in public and/or private sector with provincial/national/ international organization(s) demonstrating evidence of implementation of the nutrition specific and sensitive projects specially CMAM CMAM Surge and cash based transferred for improving nutrition.
Knowledge & Skills:
Has gained experience in implementing nutrition related programs. Has implemented programmes and provided input into designing operations. Has provided input into policy discussions and decisions.
Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu. Knowledge of local language is highly desired.
