Summary:
Analyzes health records for documentation compliance in accordance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and medical staff bylaws rules and regulations.
Provides general office coverage including answering phones and responding to requests for information from internal and external customers. Assists in orientation and training of new associates.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an HIM Tech I required.
Basic knowledge of general hospital or medical office operations with medical terminology required.
What you will do:
Reviews all discharged inpatient and outpatient records for completeness. Assign deficiencies in Profile module. Must be up to date and familiar with entire medical staff and all allied health professionals and their relationships.
Validates integrity of patient identification and selection.
Completes all tasks necessary for document imaging of health records prep scan QC and validate. Supports HIM functions including retrieval of medical records or other data coordination of audits etc.
Ensures that quality of scanned images and turnaround times meet established standards at all times. Responds to health records requests pertaining to treatment payment or operations in accordance with federal and state regulations.
