Overview of the role:
We are recruiting for a Project Manager with extensive knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and experience of delivering projects in both the Clean Energy and Defence sectors. The role requires a strong leader who can manage the end-to-end delivery of complex programmes ensure compliance safety and quality while work with multiple stakeholders in regulated environments.
This position is critical in ensuring that projects are delivered on time within budget and to scope whilst navigating the complexities of regulated and sensitive environments.
What youll be responsible for:
- Lead cross-functional teams providing clear direction and accountability while fostering collaboration across technical commercial and operations staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Teams to deliver the assigned project to defined cost schedule and quality requirements leading to a successful handover.
- Support Tender Submissions from a Project Management perspective.
- Prepare schedules and monitor progress against established baselines.
- Tracking and monitoring project spending and reporting variances using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
- Prepare meeting packs/presentations capturing minutes agreed actions updating teams and senior management.
- Positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external) associated with the project.
- Ensuring all project deliverables are completed in line with the schedule.
- Identify potential dependencies assumptions risks exceptions opportunities (DAREO) project problems mitigation contingencies and implement corrective actions. Highlighting where updates or escalations are required.
- Play an active part in Lessons Identified process across all projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain established processes and develop new as required.
- Take ownership and pride in your work and promoting project management success through the team.
- Manage proposed changes to project parameters e.g. scope budget schedules.
- Monitor the quality of project deliverables and ensure project objectives are met.
- Establish effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
What youll bring:
- Proven track record of delivering projects under NEC3/4 contracts (minimum 5 years NEC experience).
- Proven experience of effective working with those with specialist knowledge and expertise.
- Experience of delivering projects in the Clean Energy / Renewable Energy sector (wind solar nuclear grid or related).
- Experience working across joint Clean Energy & Defence programmes (e.g. nuclear energy for defence estates).
- Background in Defence project delivery (MOD defence infrastructure security-cleared environments or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of project controls financial governance and risk management in complex environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills particularly in regulated and/or sensitive projects.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and supply chains
- APM Professional qualification
- Degree in Engineering Project Management or related discipline
- Engineering or technical degree (or equivalent experience).
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office data handling and analysis
