We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health Financial and Actuarial Consulting team at Mercer. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Sr. Health Actuarial Consultant you will manage client projects focused on employers health benefits strategies including financial projections plan design optimization and renewal negotiations. You will also serve as a primary financial contact for clients while providing direction to analysts and associates.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead client engagements related to health benefits strategies including financial projections plan design optimization renewal negotiations and benchmarking.
  • Manage overall service delivery providing strategic guidance and ensuring high-quality outcomes for clients.
  • Review data analyses performed by junior team members to ensure actuarial accuracy and support their professional development.
  • Conduct complex analyses and cost projections using Excel SAS and other tools with potential specialization in healthcare-related insurance areas.
  • Prepare and review client reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommend actionable strategies.

What you need to have:

  • BA/BS degree in actuarial science math statistics finance economics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in underwriting or actuarial roles with a focus on health and benefits consulting.
  • Client-facing experience with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Word Excel and PowerPoint.
