OVERVIEW
Longenecker & Associates (L&A) seeks a motivated Fellow Engineer to contribute to our mission supporting our work at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions in Aiken SC.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The main duties include but are not limited to:
- Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements application of new or special materials or processes and dicult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning
- Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise
- Develop solutions to complex technical problems in elds of expertise
- Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them
- Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identied by management
- Develop schedules monitor progress monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research development testing quality assurance requirements
- Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers colleagues managers and oversight groups
- Prepare reports for external.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. degree and 10 years experience
- A MS degree and 12 years experience
- A BS degree and approximately 15 years experience
- Nuclear Engineering Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Considered an internal expert in area of expertise.
- Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations
- Can solve complex problems in field
- Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830 DOE O 413.3 DOE O 420.1 DOE STDsand related directives and standards is required
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in developing and providing safety basis inputs to facility/project schedules while meeting deadlines and budgets
- Candidate must perform work safely and be proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below)
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience on DOE sites and programs
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred
- Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience is preferred
- Fifteen years of relevant experience in developing reviewing and maintaining safety basis documents and safety basis support
- documents are preferred.
- Have previous Lead experience in developing safety basis documentation
