An enrolled student at an accredited educational institution working on projects or specific assignments at GE Vernova Erlanger Service Center to fulfill academic requirements and gain practical knowledge. As an intern with GE Vernova there is an opportunity to transition into a full-time position within the service center or the GE Vernova leadership program.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Work on projects often requiring independent decision-making. These projects are typically scoped to last 2 - 6 months in duration but can last for as long as 2 years.
- Work with operators and management to determine root cause of quality defects and inefficiencies based on efficiency data and standards.
- Expected to work both in an office environment and a shop floor manufacturing environment.
- Lead or assist continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain multiple projects in various departments.
- Develop graphic presentations using PowerPoint or similar programs to communicate progress share best practices and provide updates.
- Perform assignments where trust and accuracy are required.
- May be asked to analyze data with Excel or various other analysis tools.
- May be asked to take on special projects that fall within the function the intern is studying. For example may be asked to write software code if in an engineering internship or might be asked to perform compensation analysis if in a HR internship.
- May be asked to participate in early talent events seminars or trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a degree program that will lead to a bachelors degree technical degree or equivalent in the function (or similar) in which the intern will work OR has a bachelors degree or technical degree in the function (or similar) he or she is interning in.
- Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
- Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
Desired Characteristics
- At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelors/technical (or equivalent) degree in the function you are interning or a recent graduate from a Bachelors/technical program in the function you are interning.
- Proficiency in Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word
- Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Proficiency in Excel syntax and automation
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.
- Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead process information maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-Starter proactive able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues create solutions and meet deadlines.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
- Relocation Assistance:Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable proper and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
- Housing Allowance:Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Interns permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
- Employee Assistance Program providing 24/7 confidential assessment counseling and referral services
- GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
