Our client is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Paediatric Registrar to join their dynamic paediatrics team with immediate start until July 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with prior paediatric experience who is looking to further develop their clinical skills and career in a supportive and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to infants children and adolescents under the supervision of Consultant Paediatricians.

  • Participate in the day-to-day running of the paediatrics department including ward rounds outpatient clinics emergency care and neonatal care.

  • Assist in the assessment diagnosis and treatment of paediatric patients in line with best clinical practice.

  • Contribute to the education and supervision of junior medical staff medical students and nursing staff.

  • Participate in the on-call rota including nights and weekends.

  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital and national standards.

  • Engage in clinical audit quality improvement projects and continuing professional development (CPD).

  • Adhere to hospital policies clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure safe and effective care.

Job requirements

  1. Medical degree and full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).

  2. Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience including at least 6 months in paediatrics.

  3. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP) certification.

  4. Excellent communication teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  5. Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse caseload.

Desirable:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in neonatal intensive care or paediatric emergency medicine.

  • Experience working in the Irish healthcare system.
