CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract Full-time / Attachment until 26/03/2026
DEPARTMENT: BBC Scotland Sport
LOCATION: Pacific Quay Glasgow
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 29000 - 34500 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Sport Scotland serves audiences across digital television and radio covering football rugby and a wide range of other sporting events and personalities. We are the home of Scottish football with rights to domestic European and international football covering men and women. Scottish football and then some. Premiership men and women as well as Off the Ball and a series of successful podcasts.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
BBC Sport Scotland has been commissioned to produce a third series of the popular Icons of Football format. The series will be 6 x 30 episodes for the BBC Scotland channel covering the careers of six different Scottish football legends who have made their mark on the game using key interviews rich archive newspapers and stills.
From the Euros the Olympics to The Open whether its 6 Nations Rugby or the top Tennis tournaments BBC Sport Scotland is at the heart of Sports major events.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Providing administrative support to the production team as and when required depending on team structures.
- Contributing to and helping to implement practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.
- Responsible for assisting the Production Manager (or equivalent) in identifying and sourcing appropriate resource and location requirements for the production at the earliest possible stage.
- Applying any specialist skills to productions
- Responsible for preparing (or contributing to the preparation of) managing setting and monitoring of production budgets (or elements of) and for forecasting and reporting where required. May also assess the financial viability of content ideas that may arise during productions.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Knowledge and experience in end to end multi-platform production process. Across Radio TV and Online production deliverables.
- Proven experience of foreign filming/broadcast across TV and Radio.
- Demonstrable experience of rights procedures across TV and Online production.
- Thorough knowledge of BBC systems MyBusiness Silvermouse Transport and Travel etc.
