The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Decision Support Unit Manager St Vincents Hospital Melbourne is seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated Decision Support Partner to provide actionable insights and enhance data-driven decision making through delivery of business intelligence (BI) and business analytics (BA) solutions.

Located on the main campus of St Vincents Hospital Melbourne and close to public transport and parking the Decision Support Unit is a small and collegial team of business and data analysts who add value to the organisation through provisioning and maintaining key performance information and insights.

As a key member of the Decision Support Unit; the successful applicant will champion the use of analytics and stakeholder management to drive continuous improvement and organisational success.

This role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs streamline processes and contribute to impactful analytics projects; while also assisting in the development and maintenance of key reports and dashboards.

Classifications for this position will range from HS4 - HS29 ($83657.60 - $92 482 per annum) plus an over award.

Key Responsibilities

Primary day to day accountabilities for this business-critical appointment include:

  • Leading initiatives that combine both BI and BA to address complex challenges and opportunities and conducting in-depth analyses to identify trends patterns and opportunities

  • Designing developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI SSMS and Report Builder

  • Identifying inefficiencies and recommending data-driven solutions to optimise organisational workflows while monitoring key performance indicators to track progress and highlight opportunities for enhancement

  • Facilitating workshops and presentations to align stakeholders on insights and strategies

  • Collaborating with clinical and operational teams to define organisational data needs and priorities and leverage data for strategic improvement

Selection Criteria

  • Strong data visualisation skills including the ability to deliver clear targeted and impactful user experience reports

  • Proficiency in Power BI SSMA and Report Builder

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
