Team Lead Cyber Threat Intelligence

Role Definition:

Caterpillar is seeking an experienced and motivated Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) professional to lead our CTI operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of six cyber threat analysts and detection engineers developing strategy based on our threat model and intelligence requirements driving intelligence operations and delivering threat intelligence to stakeholders to enhance detection and response capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in threat intelligence and leadership and a deep understanding of the threat landscape and cybersecurity operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of cyber threat intelligence (CTI) analysts and detection engineers.

  • Develop and execute the CTI strategy aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Oversee the intelligence operations (requirements collection processing and analysis and dissemination) of the team.

  • Collaborate with SOC Hunt incident response vulnerability management and other cybersecurity teams to provide context-rich intelligence.

  • Produce high-quality intelligence reports threat briefings and executive summaries.

  • Prepare and present threat briefs to the global cybersecurity division and business segments.

  • Maintain relationships with industry peers and intelligence-sharing communities.

  • Monitor emerging threats tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs) and threat actor activity.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve intelligence sources tools platforms and methodologies.

  • Manage vendor relationships and drive delivery of platform capabilities.

  • Drive automation and integration of threat intelligence into security operations and detection capabilities.

What You Have:

  • Bachelors degree or related experience.

  • 5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence or related cybersecurity roles.

  • 2 years of leadership experience.

  • Strong understanding of threat intelligence frameworks (e.g. MITRE ATT&CK Diamond Model Kill Chain).

  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) SIEMs and open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools.

  • Excellent analytical communication and report-writing skills.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. GCTI GCIH CISSP CEH CTIA) are a plus.

Skills Descriptors:

  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple understandable language appropriate to the audience.

  • Cybersecurity Standards and Policies: Knowledge of developing cybersecurity policies standards and procedures; ability to develop and communicate policies standards and procedures that guide interactions with customers.

  • Cybersecurity Risk Management: Knowledge of tools techniques approaches and processes of cybersecurity risk management; ability to ensure organizational network operation and minimize negative effects by cybersecurity risks.

  • Information Security Management: Knowledge of the processes tools and techniques of information security management; ability to deploy and monitor information security systems while detecting controlling and preventing violations of IT security.

  • Information Technology (IT) Security Policies: Knowledge of IT security policies standards and procedures; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.

  • The primary locations for this position are: East Peoria IL Nashville TN or Dallas TX

  • 5 days onsite is MANDATORY.

Summary Pay Range:

$126000.00 - $189000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
