Job Description
This is an entry level IT position. Under direction the Service Desk Specialist handles incoming calls voicemails emails and chats to the colleges IT Help Desk. They will perform initial assessment and triage of reported IT service interruptions and requests for service and use the IT Service Management system to properly record and route tickets for resolution. Typical work hours are scheduled during IT Help Desk hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday Thursday and 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday.
Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in an information technology related field or an equivalent combination of experience on an IT Help Desk education or industry certification preferred. Must have the ability to communicate and work well with students faculty and staff. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
