The Production & Studio Technology Services (PSTS) Group provides a robust set of technology services and solutions in support of SPEs physical production production finance and studio operations businesses. At the core our technologies provide the underlying tools to properly plan and execute the creation of content from production office content workflow management production finance reporting location accounting and a broad set of studio centric tool sets that service the studio lot based on Culver City LA. The team supports over 100 productions globally across SPEs Motion Picture and Television business including multiple wholly owned affiliate and co-production arrangements.
The Software Engineer will be part of the Portfolio Architecture team within PSTS and the position is accountable for solving all the technology aspects of a software development project so that the product meets the business and technology requirements and is delivered on-time and on-budget.
Responsibilities:
Interacts with end users. Gathers requirements. Provides solutions based on existing problems
Work closely with the business and IT teams in design discussions reviews and test cycles
Develops and implements innovative technology-based solutions that meets customer needs
Ability to interface with technical leads/developers to perform requirements walkthroughs
Simplifies and makes sense of complex high quantity and sometimes contradictory information.
Participate in root cause analysis and problem resolution for defects in production pertaining to the application reports and data.
Participate throughout the lifecycle of a project or product from idea generation to implementation.
Support the business analyst in eliciting non-functional requirements and architecturally significant requirements during the requirements gathering phase.
Incorporate standards and guidelines prescribed by Enterprise Architecture and Business Intelligence Platform team into their designs.
Lead proof of concept solutions for technologies working with technology teams and solution architects
Deliverables:
Code deliverables meeting business requirements. Might include front end screens back-end queries dashboards and reports using BI tools and solutions built using low code no code tools
Successful day-to-day support maintenance and enhancements of the Business Intelligence (BI) solutions Dashboards and data present in a Datawarehouse
High- and low-level technical design documents and specifications
Software maintenance and enhancements releases documentation test plans and test results and audit reports
Research new SAAS solutions. Document comparison reports to determine best fit
Ensure data integrity and data quality is maintained across all data interfaces
Learn new technologies and experiment with evolving AI technology models to solution for evolving business needs
Experience and Education:
Minimum 3 plus years of experience in IT or related technical professions
Strategic thinker great attention to detail with keen eye for data and systems improvement
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented results driven and agile work environment
Bachelors degree or relative certifications preferred.
3 years employment in the IT industry working in mid to large enterprise environments
1 years of experience working in the Media and Entertainment industry (preferred)
Skills and Knowledge
Familiar with these technology skillsets and working experience with a subset
Python Java
JavaScript HTML5 CSS3
Spring stack including Spring Boot
Datawarehouse technology (preferably Snowflake)
REST services and Swagger documentation
Knowledge of AWS Services principles and commercial strategies
Hands on experience (as a Business Analyst or Reports developer) with a subset of Tableau & PowerBI
Ability to interface with other technical leads/developers to perform design and code walkthroughs.
Experience with agile development and continuous integration
Eagerness to learn adapt and implement new skill sets for individual and team.
Has the ability to work independently under limited supervision to accomplish small tasks that require coordination between multiple departments and people.
Experience with cloud technologies agile and DevOps
Strong critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiar with AI models ability and desireto learn how to leverage AI for evolving business needs
