SUMMARY:

the Radiologic Technologist demonstrates cooperative attitude in accomplishing the common goal of patient care within the department and with other personnel affected by the department of Diagnostic Imaging. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for carrying out diagnostic tests using digitalradiographic unit and work in tandem with other medical personnel in order to achieve organizational goals. This position has a dual role of radiologic technologist as well as urgent Care this position the Tech will support the UCC Nurse Practitioner in the delivery of patient care within the Urgent Care Center (UCC) setting. This position includes but is not limited to triaging patients to prioritize carerooming patients obtaining vital signs and additional duties as assigned within the Radiologic Technologist scope of practice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Prepares patients forradiological exams by positioning patient appropriately to obtain diagnostic images per physicians order.
• Assists with and performs patient care including collection of patient information accurate reading and documentation of vital signs and recording activities and treatments on the EMR. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
• Traige incoming patient requests for services as needed; oversee the daily patient flow to optimize patient care safety and satisfaction using healthcare assessment skills prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills. Performs various procedures processes and other duties as assigned under provider delegation.
• Demonstrates competency in the operation of the digital radiography units diagnostic protocols and diagnostic policies and guidelines.
• Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques applies shielding for patients and staff as needed uses appropriate exposure index factors for digital radiography. Follows the ALARA principles at all times.
• May call for transfer position and manage patients independently with a high degree of professional care tact and courtesy. Transports patients from the patient room and back to the department in a safe manner.
• Operates digital Radiography equipment for the purpose of capturing diagnostic images of a particular segment of the patients body.
• Performs tube-warm up procedure and detector calibration/QC daily.
• Adjusts exposure techniques for pediatric patients.
• wears a radiation monitor while working in the department.
• Practices good stewardship of the equipment/DR Detector.
• Protects patients and employees by assisting in maintaininga clean safe working environment and adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas. cleans equipment following established guidelines. Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained.
• Participatesin staff meetings.
• Will drive to/from Estes Park Health for stat X-rays if needed.
• Is thoroughly familiar with all departmental routines scheduling techniques record keeping and procedures offered. Knows progressions of the departmental workflow and paperwork including complete submission of exams to the radiologist for interpretation.
• Assumes responsibility for general departmental neatness and cleanness including orderly storage of materials.
• Maintains professional affiliation(s) and certifications for own professional growth and as required by such organizations as to stay current and in compliance.
• Maintains familiarity with and complies with professional ethics.
• Perform in accordance with all local state and federal laws and regulatory agency standards.
• All other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• American Heart Association BLS.
• American Heart Association ACLS

PAY RANGE:

$25.24 - $34.33 per hour
