The requirements listed below are representative of the education experience certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
One (1) year of relevant experience teaching coaching or recreational programming is preferred.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
Minimum Additional Qualification Swim Instructor and CARA Swim Coach
Minimum Additional Qualifications Youth Sports Coach
Minimum Additional Qualifications Youth Programs Instructor

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general supplies and program and classroom equipment including but not limited to items such as arts and crafts materials games scoreboards whistles various sports gear and specialized equipment needed for therapeutic recreation and/or adaptive activities.
Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting standing walking talking handling feeling or operating objects stooping kneeling crouching or Coach and CARA Swim Coach requires regular Skating Instructor requires regular ice skating. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of hearing abilities necessary to maintain a safe responsive environment particularly in outdoor or noisy recreational settings.
Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment or outdoors. Employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment electrical equipment chemicals or radiant energy.
