Scope of Position:
Under general supervision of department manager performs a variety of general clerical functions for nursing unit including transcribing physicians orders maintaining patients records routing charts and records arranging for patient care services (lab tests x-rays etc.) answering telephones answering patient call lights to send appropriate help.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
Skills: Six weeks to three months of on-the-job training is required to learn the units routine policies and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer previous experience as a unit/ward clerk including computer (order entry) and medical terminology.
