Out-of-Scope Full time

Temporary: 7 months

Location: Regina Onsite

Closes: Friday August 29 2025

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning organizing and managing staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of SGIs IT infrastructure. This includes developing maintaining supporting and optimizing key functional areas particularly computer infrastructure network database cloud back-up and recovery capabilities infrastructure disaster recovery (DR) and monitoring systems.

Key Accountabilities

Note: This section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Strategic Support

  • Prepares and maintains tactical roadmaps for the delivery of infrastructure hardware and services.

  • Oversees the preparation and maintenance of documentation of infrastructure including diagrams and configuration information.

  • Drives research for new infrastructure technologies by keeping current with industry trends and continually assessing the viability/compatibility of the trends within SGIs existing infrastructure.

  • Engages plans and works with all stakeholders and team members to determine implement and oversee all current and future infrastructure requirements.

  • Develops and maintains infrastructure job roles as needed as the IT industry evolves.

Operational Support

  • Manages Incident Response for infrastructure related events and collaborates across teams to assist in issue resolution.

  • Creates and maintains performance metrics used to measure and improve performance; monitors and reports on KPIs and SLAs.

  • Oversees the Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all services supported by the team.

  • Oversees the Development and maintenance of operational Runbooks for use by the IT Operations department to rapidly resolve issues.

  • Supervises all aspects of team function and be accountable for team performance.

  • Procures any required IT hardware software and support solutions within corporate purchasing guidelines.

  • Ensures that IT Change Management IT Incident and Problem Management processes are followed appropriate to the organizations standards.

  • Integrates long-term plans and short-term delivery with the enterprise architecture roadmaps and guiding principles.

Vendor Management

  • Provides tactical management of vendor contracts and maintains relationships with key infrastructure and service providers.

  • Ensures that vendor delivery (solution and services) aligns to the needs of the business and the overall program.

  • Ensures vendor delivery aligns to the terms set forth in contracts/statements of work from a scope quality cost and timing perspective.

People Leadership

  • Builds a high performing workforce by actively leading human resource activities.

  • Ensures development of divisional succession plans.

  • Builds a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies ensuring integration with employee performance development and career development plans.

  • Drives performance through team members and is committed to leadership development across the company supporting employees and workforce readiness through mentoring training and developmental opportunities.

Corporate Management

  • Ensures programs and policies are in alignment with corporate strategic and divisional strategies.

  • Manages risk in area of authority.

  • Prepares reviews manages and/or approves departmental/divisional budgets.

  • Prepares decision requests decision and/or information items and/or SGI board items.

  • Ensures that the Health Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility including development implementation and managing of program components specific to departmental health and safety requirements.

  • Makes decisions for departmental operations that are efficient effective and in alignment with strategic direction and priorities.

  • Ensures department and program policies procedures and guidelines are in compliance with applicable federal and provincial legislation and regulations; implements and evaluates changes to legislation and regulations in area of authority.

  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of internal controls to support reliable financial reporting and compliance in accordance with applicable laws and regulations within the span of control and communicates the importance of internal controls to staff.

Education and Experience

  • A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Information Technology Business or Mathematics & Applied Science.

  • Eight years experience comprised of four years of leadership experience and four years experience in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise environment including application hosting voice and data networks security and information protection.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of systems architecture principles best practices and industry standards.

  • Knowledge of vendor management processes and best practices.

  • Knowledge of demand and resource planning and people management.

  • Knowledge of IT industry and SDLC best practices and industry standards.

  • Knowledge of the strategic and tactical planning of application systems and the delivery of IT customer service.

  • Knowledge of program and project management methodologies and techniques required to plan manage and execute programs and projects.

  • Knowledge of business processes and how they interact to support business operations.

  • Skill in developing proposals and presenting recommendations.
