Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily operations for our heavy highway construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring all projects are delivered on time within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards. If you are a proven leader with strong project management experience in heavy civil construction we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for multiple heavy highway construction projects and crews.
  • Ensure projects meet timelines budgets quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to allocate resources efficiently and align on project strategy.
  • Review and analyze project documents to ensure compliance with requirements and contracts.
  • Partner with the safety team to implement and manage site-specific safety programs.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to ensure work is completed per specifications and schedules.
  • Support Project Managers with project scheduling reporting and risk management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train employees in project management and estimating.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (Masters a plus).
  • 15 years of construction industry experience with at least 10 years in project management.
  • Proven experience in heavy highway construction (DOT projects paving drainage site work concrete).
  • Strong leadership skills with a stable work history.
  • Excellent communication organization and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and anticipate project challenges.
  • Comfortable working 85% in-office / 15% in-field.
  • Must be okay with dogs (we have them in the office!).

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: $140000 - $180000 DOE
