Summary of the Role
Were looking for a highly motivated and strategic Sr. Director Business Development to significantly expand the content offerings on the Roblox this pivotal role youll be the driving force behind identifying cultivating and securing partnerships with leading video game studios. Your ultimate goal will be to bring their intellectual properties (IPs) to Roblox leveraging our massive global user base to create new engaging experiences that drive user acquisition retention and revenue. Youll be instrumental in shaping the future of gaming on Roblox by transforming initial outreach into successful live experiences working closely with both external partners and internal teams.
You Will
- Strategic Partnership Development: Proactively identify prioritize and cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers at video game studios demonstrating the value proposition of bringing their IPs to the Roblox platform.
- Deal Negotiation & Closure: Lead complex business development discussions and negotiations collaborating closely with our internal Legal teams to review and finalize robust contractual agreements.
- Operational Roadmap Creation: Develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap to operationalize the entire partner lifecycle from initial onboarding through to successful project launch.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner effectively with internal engineering teams and third-party developers to ensure seamless project execution overseeing the development and successful delivery of new game experiences.
- IP Expansion & User Growth: Drive the expansion of Robloxs genre library by attracting high-quality external game IPs directly contributing to new user acquisition and the long-term retention of our existing user base.
- Market Evangelism: Articulate and champion the unique value proposition for external game studios showcasing how Roblox can help them reach new audiences monetize their content and revive dormant IPs.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of launched IP leveraging insights to inform future business development strategies and ensure mutual success for Roblox and our partners.
You Have
- Proven Business Development Leadership: Extensive experience (typically 10 years) in senior-level business development roles within the interactive entertainment gaming or platform industries with a track record of identifying negotiating and closing significant strategic partnerships.
- Deep Gaming Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the video game ecosystem including industry trends IP lifecycle development pipelines and the motivations of game studios.
- Contractual Acumen: Demonstrated experience working in concert with legal teams on complex contract review and negotiation with an ability to understand and articulate key terms and implications.
- Operational & Project Management Skills: Proven ability to create and execute operational roadmaps for new business initiatives including experience with onboarding processes and project managing successful launches with internal and external stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional collaboration skills with a history of effectively partnering with engineering product legal and other cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to completion.
- Strategic Vision & Execution: The ability to think strategically about market opportunities translate vision into actionable plans and execute with precision to achieve measurable results.
- Communication & Influence: Superior communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build rapport with senior executives both internally and externally.
