Job Summary

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:

You should work with the Principal Investigator / Research supervisor on a research project in order to investigate/ established the aims and objectives of the research project. Specific responsibilities will include to:

collect data using digital tools as per project protocol.
conduct maternal and newborn anthropometric measurements.
perform household visits in line with study procedures.
do household visits as per project protocol
coordinate regularly with project supervisors to discuss field-related activities.
provide appropriate counselling to study participants.
maintain all project data in an organized and confidential manner.
plan and conduct awareness sessions within the community if required.

Requirement:

You should have:

strong communication and interpersonal skills
strong teamwork skills
good writing skills.
basic knowledge of survey and other research designs
ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
good communication and interpersonal skills
resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
willing to work in the communities/field sites
good computer and report writing skills
