Job Summary

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:

You should work with the Principal Investigator / Research supervisor on a research project in order to investigate/ established the aims and objectives of the research project. Specific responsibilities will include to:

  • collect data using digital tools as per project protocol.

  • conduct maternal and newborn anthropometric measurements.

  • perform household visits in line with study procedures.

  • do household visits as per project protocol

  • coordinate regularly with project supervisors to discuss field-related activities.

  • provide appropriate counselling to study participants.

  • maintain all project data in an organized and confidential manner.

  • plan and conduct awareness sessions within the community if required.

Requirement:

You should have:

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • strong teamwork skills
  • good writing skills.
  • basic knowledge of survey and other research designs
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
  • willing to work in the communities/field sites
  • good computer and report writing skills
