Job Description

Overview

Catholic Eldercare is seeking a Dining Manager for their Assisted Living facilities!

The Dining Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Assisted Living kitchens of Catholic Eldercare. This includes overseeing and scheduling staff cooking preparing meals developing menus and ordering appropriate materials for their development.

Schedule: This is a full time exempt Monday-Friday position. This position works general business hours based on the needs of the department. This position works on site at our location in NE Minneapolis.

Catholic Eldercare is a community of residential facilities in Northeast Minneapolis offering services in assisted living independent living skilled nursing memory care transitional care and adult day services.

Responsibilities

The Dining Manager will:
1. Oversee full scope of operations of Assisted Living dining as a working manager.
2. Hire schedule and manage performance of all dining staff. Coach and remediate staff not meeting job expectations. Perform regular performance evaluations.
3. Anticipate hiring needs and work to maintain adequate staffing while staying within budget.
4. Supervise and train all dining staff in the preparation cooking and serving of food and cleanup duties.
5. Back up cook and dining aides as staffing requires.
6. Develop and revise menus seasonally.
7. Organize regular staff meetings to ensure communication of rules policies and expectations.
8. Maintain food and inventory supply and make needed purchases in advance. Keep accurate records submit bills for payment and stay within established budget.
9. Collaborate with other Dining leaders on special events to ensure staffing and supplies.
10. Inspect equipment and work area to ensure ongoing safety standard compliance.
11. Attend monthly resident food committee meetings and thoughtfully receive feedback. Resolve resident complaints or concerns with attention to strong customer service.
12. Other duties as needed to maintain dining operations.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Four or more years of full-scope kitchen management.
Two or more years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
Current Certified Food Protection Manager Certification.
Must have intermediate to advanced skills in written and spoken English.
Must be able to pass NetStudy background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of dietary modifications for Assisted Living.
Completion of a culinary certification or culinary education program.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose best solution and solve problems.
Show attention to detail with concern for quality and safety.
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently and to effectively lead a team.
Ability to effectively communicate with residents families coworkers vendors and others that may have varying socioeconomic cultural and educational differences.
Flexibility to adjust workload based on the needs of a collaborative team.

The Dining Manager must use email computerized ordering systems online menus phone and face-to-face communication with individuals and teams.
The Dining Manager should promptly respond to requests or needs of the Executive Director the Operations Director and other staff that may have immediate concerns to ensure continued operation of the Assisted Living kitchens.
Exempt 40 hours per week position.
The Dining Manager may frequently lift up to 50 pounds and must be able to stand sit walk talk hear smell taste squat reach crouch and push/pull.
