The role

What will you be doing

Senior Actuarial Manager Change

Location: Hybrid Dorking 2 days per week 1 further day spent in Dorking Basingstoke or London

Unum UK is looking for a qualified actuary to lead the delivery of strategic change initiatives across our Finance & Underwriting functions. This is a high-impact role where you will provide senior actuarial input and guidance on key projects particularly within Pricing & Risk.

You will be responsible for managing cross-functional project teams ensuring robust governance and communicating outcomes to senior stakeholders. As a senior leader you will also play a key role in shaping actuarial processes and building strategic relationships across the business.

What will you bring

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning leading and managing project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Communicate key deliverables risks and outcomes to senior stakeholders and approval committees across the business
  • Mentor and coach junior team members as required

What you will bring:

  • Strong post-qualification experience and a 2:1 degree or above in a numerate subject
  • Expertise across pricing (Group Risk Individual or General Insurance) reserving methodology and/or assumption setting
  • Experience in GLM modelling (preferred) and familiarity with actuarial modelling software
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to drive change and deliver results
