Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting. The technologist will assist surgeons during surgical procedures working with adult and pediatric patients across a variety of surgical specialties. The position requires on-call and weekend work.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Monitoring the patients vital signs during surgery.
- Passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Working collaboratively with the surgical team.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA certification required unless the traveler has worked as a tech in NY prior to 2015).
- Experience in a surgical setting (experience requirements may vary based on prior NY experience).
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties.
- Experience with pediatric patients.

Special Considerations:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (11:00 PM - 11:00 AM).
- One weekend per month and one call per week.
- Facility has 23 operating rooms and 1 procedure room.
- Performs elective and emergency surgeries.
- First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility.
- One weekend per month and one call per week.

- Three 12-hour shifts per week (midnights).
