The opportunity

Join the Global Financial Services Organisation (GFS) and you will work with multi-disciplinary teams from around the world to deliver a global perspective to a range of high-profile clients. We provide a highly integrated team combining the knowledge from across our service lines to provide advice and guidance to key industry groups including Wealth and Asset Management Banking & Capital Markets and Insurance.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dynamic Finance and Tax team to help add value to our Financial Services sector clients on their transform and operate projects. This role is critical in helping our clients transform their sourcing model to be more efficient either in a single country or across multiple regions and helps to ensure that their Finance and Tax teams are set up for success into the future. As the Finance and Tax Transformation Senior Consultant/Manager you will be working alongside several teams in EY to deliver the best solution for the client.

This is a hybrid position based Warrang Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

• Assess finance and tax functions identify opportunities for improvement and design target operating models to drive transformative change.
• Guide and support teams in data gathering and analysis conducting interviews and process walkthroughs to map current-state operations.
• Analyse optimise and redesign finance and tax processes including technology integration and operating model transformation.
• Collaborate with broader teams to implement relevant technology and AI-driven tools applying data and AI expertise to both client and EY projects.
• Deliver exceptional project outcomes and stakeholder management throughout transformation projects packaging findings into high-quality concise work products.

Skills and attributes for success

• 3 years of experience in Finance or Tax ideally in the Financial Services Industry or a finance related degree or qualifications (such as CA CPA CFA)
• An interest in transformation Data and AI
• Experience in leading and implementing change
• A mindset of continuous improvement with excellent organisation time management and problem-solving skills

Ideally youll also have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interestedin your aptitude attitude and willingness to learn.

• Capability to manage multiple and competing priorities
• Decisive sound judgment and strong ability to present arguments in written and verbal form
• Ability to form strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in distilling business practices and articulating complex Finance and Tax processes with accuracy and clarity

It is also helpful if you understand and can apply relevant technologies such as:

• Accounting consolidation and reporting tools
• Automation GenAI and Agentic AI

And importantly an understand the underlying role enterprise Data plays in all the above
