The HR Coordinator-Workforce Development is responsible for developing implementing and evaluating strategies and programs related to ensuring workforce development. The primary focus of this role is on expanding and preparing the workforce to fill both entry-level and hard-to-fill positions. This will be achieved by developing and conducting skills assessments designing training opportunities for current staff and supporting the execution of workforce development programs and initiatives. The role is responsible for establishing partnerships with schools and community organizations to meet workforce requirements based on employment projections. It will support employment and retention processes and programs as appropriate.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinate workforce development programs including program contracts school partnerships student internships and other duties associated with program delivery as needed.
- Partner with community workforce development firms and hiring managers to develop a recruitment strategy for entry-level positions to fill vacancies in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop and implement a community recruitment strategy ensuring compliance with all federal state and local regulations as well as SP policies procedures Vision Mission and Values.
- Facilitate development of career plans employee transitions and internal jobs fairs.
- Enhance Sheppard Pratts ability to attract and retain qualified healthcare workers by developing and implementing a workforce feeder system to meet projected needs which includes vocational skill enhancement to prepare employees for advancement implementing community workforce and school partnership programs to introduce youth to healthcare careers.
- Collaborate with managers to identify employee career growth opportunities and track progress.
- Develop and maintain a repository of employee resources such as transportation childcare education assistance housing financial and legal counseling domestic and workplace violence etc.
- Coach and advise employees seeking advancement in their career by helping them identify and reach their career goals.
- Connect employees with training programs and job advancement opportunities to meet workforce demands while assisting them in identifying and removing barriers to success at work.
- Develop and enhance programs that promote career exploration such as shadowing programs.
- Screen interview and refer qualified applicants from community referrals. Evaluate qualifications and obtain references and transcripts ensuring compliance with federal state and local professional licensure requirements.
- Research and pursue grant opportunities to fund workforce development initiatives by identifying grant-funding sources coordinating the development of grant requests and associated activities with sponsoring organizations.
- Evaluate workforce development program effectiveness tracking and reporting key outcomes on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelors degree in Public Administration Human Services Human Resources Health Services Administration or related field or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- 6-12 months of experience in workforce development recruitment program development and implementation career counseling and/or management.
- Experience in counseling educational instruction and case management experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with workforce planning career development training programs and recruitment strategies.
- Familiarity with community partnerships employee assistance programs and well-being resources.
- Ability to develop and implement workforce mobility programs and career advancement initiatives.
