TheBusiness Analystis an integral part of a feature teamand alsoa member of thewiderBusiness Analysis community -reportingtoa senior Business Analyst withinLife Technologydepartment. Therolenormally works as part of an agile feature team as the sole Business Analyst on the team.
The Business Analystisgenerallyresponsible for understanding of user and business needs and supportingfeatureteams to visualise and deliverdesiredbusiness outcomes. TheBusiness Analyst requires agoodunderstandingin one more areas / productsof the Life Technology. The role contributes to the positive change of those systems and processes from abacklog offeatures. Theyworkas anintegral part of the team building key relationships with peers in business and technology.
Theywill bean activeplayerin the BA community across Technology collaborating with other Business Analysts working on similar types of work
What Ill be doing your accountabilities:
- Investigating understanding and capturing requirements: Youll work with theothers in your feature team to work on requirements to present them in a way that can be understood and to support their build and implementation. This may be with internal teams or partners who are third parties.
- Contribute to their team and produce the right outcomes: Youll work with the Business Analysts to help themto do the right activities and to produce the right outputs. You will step in and be part of the team where necessary.
- Unblock problems and issues:Work with the team toanticipate andunblock issues that they may encounter. Youll need to befinding solutions to the problems encounteredand facilitate their implementation.
- Prioritisation:Where there is more demand than supply help prioritise in creative ways so the work can be completed.
- Be an active contributor in the Business Analysiscommunity: Participate in the wider Business Analysis team. Support the Head ofBusiness Analysis. Help drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholdermanagement:You will build relationships with peers and stakeholders. You will influencethemfor the positive in the area of BusinessAnalysis.
Skills required for role:
- Technologyskills:You will have a good understanding of technology and will be comfortable working in a technology team. You will be familiar with architecture terminology and have broad experience of key industry software. You will feel comfortable diving into some of the technology detailand analysing data. You will be comfortable working in agile and waterfall methodologies and understand advantages and disadvantages of differentmethodologies.
- Skill of understanding business processes: You will be able to understand good business processes and beable to analyseand documentcurrent business processesclearly. You will be able toidentify and implement opportunities for optimisation and transformation. You will be familiar with financial services products and practices.
- Researchand criticalthinking skills:You will be able to take a problem and consider several possible outcomes. You will be able to identify the best outcome by probing and researching viable options. You will be able to present your findings in a way thatisappropriatefor the intended audience tounderstand.
- People skills:You will be interacting with a lot of peopleatmany different levels. you will need to understand how different people think and what motivates them in order to help determinebusiness analysis outcomes.
- Communication skills: You will need to be a good listener and to understand what people are telling you. When you communicate it will need to be effective at the right level of detail at the right frequency and in the right way. You will need to be a good negotiator.
- Business Analysisskills:You will need to know formal business analysis skills. You will know how to investigate analyse visualise and articulate and solve problems. You will need to make sure the solution aligns with the vision of M&G. You will have kept abreastof market trends and techniques.
- Can do attitude: You will want to find solutions to overcome issues and to be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
