OUR ORGANIZATION MISSION AND CULTURE:
The mission of the VPSO division is to work in partnership with nonprofit regional corporations and Alaska Native organizations for training and employment of village public safety officers.
In communities associated with the VPSO program citizens receive immediate response to emergencies without delays caused by weather or distance. VPSO work closely with Alaska State Troopers and provide law enforcement emergency medical response search and rescue operations fire prevention and suppression disaster preparedness and response public safety education and community policing.THE BENEFITS OF JOINING OUR TEAM:
The VPSO division staff is a close-knit team made up of a director statewide coordinator training manager and administrative support. The division and the regional VPSO programs are a priority for Departments rural public safety mission and you will have the opportunity to serve remote communities in ways that make positive impacts on the daily lives of Alaskans across the state.
