Seattle Public Utilities Customer Care Division is seekingmultiple temporary Contact Center Representatives (Utility Account Representative Trainees)to join our Joint Utility Contact Center. Our representatives are the first point of contact for many Seattle Public Utilities and Seattle City Light customers and they play an important role in answering and resolving billing-related questions and issues related to water sewer drainage solid waste and electric services.
For the first 8 weeks during the training period your schedule will be 8 AM 5 PM in the office. After the training period employees will move to the Contact Center floor in the office until they consistently adhere to expectations and meet performance goals. The successful candidates will work an 8-hour work shift ranging between 7:25 AM and 6:10 PM and will move to the Contact Center floor in the office until employees consistently hit their KPI goals for three (3) consecutive months before they will be able to work remotely.Strict attendance is required especially during the first three (3) months for training purposes. Adherence to a rigid schedule (start and stop times and breaks) is essential.
To work remotelyemployees must live within three (3) hours from the work location. They need to have dependable high-speed internet and a suitable work environment where they can consistently meet their job expectations after completing their training and meeting their KPI goals.
These temporary assignments are approved for up to 11-months. These assignments are initially ineligible to receive health care or paid leave benefits but will receive premium pay in lieu of these benefits.
Temporary assignments with the City of Seattle cannot automatically be converted to regular positions but temporary work provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a City office environment.

Experience:One (1) year of customer service/contact center experience and/or experience in a billing process.

The full salary range for this position is $30.67 per hour - $31.95 per hour. *Temporary employeesbegin at Step 1 of the pay progression at $30.67 per hour.
