  • Permanent Part-Time 0.7FTE - 56 hours per fortnight

Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care education and support related to sexual health &STIs
  • Provide clinical leadership & support to our sexual health registered nurses
  • Provide education and training to patients families and other healthcare professionals on sexual health topics
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans participate in case reviews and ensure coordinated care
  • Identify and facilitate appropriate referrals for patients with complex needs including medical social and psychological support
  • Provide non-judgemental compassionate care to people from a range of backgrounds sexualities and gender identities

About the Team/Service

TheSexual Health Service is based at 3 Ohaupo Road in Hamilton and provides free confidential sexual healthcare. Our core service is the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections including appropriate partner notification. The service also provides emergency contraception vaccination for Hepatitis B and Gardasil and HIV prevention medication (PEP and PrEP. The service also provides care for a range of related conditions e.g. genital skin conditions chronic genital pain and gender-affirming care including hormone therapy.
