Job Description

Wacos Technical Development Program (TDP) is a local three-year rotational leadership development program. Throughout the three diverse and challenging twelve-month rotations the TDP members will develop exceptional functional and leadership traits by working on a wide range of projects while providing exposure to different leaders at the site. The incumbents will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.    

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • TDP member will spend three years as a full-time salary employee in the program completing three separate professional work assignments geared towards the following potential opportunities:
    - Engineering
    - Manufacturing
    - Quality
    - Science & Technology
    - Purchasing and Supplier Management
    - Supply Chain
  • Be a regular full-time AbbVies employee and qualify for the same competitive salary and benefits as other AbbVie employees.
  • Develop a well-rounded skill set through each of the TDPs assignments.
  • Obtain training customized to support the TDPs individual growth and development.
  • Report to a department manager in each assignment who will oversee the day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Receive leadership training in collaboration with other functional development programs once a year.
  • Conform to EH&S management system requirements and compliance obligations promote continuous improvement and consider EH&S aspects during the design and change process. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting use of PPE waste management and disposal and any other program applicable according to the position duties.
  • Builds relationships initiates and cultivates open honest relationships with colleagues customers contractors and vendors by establishing rapport developing an understanding of others needs promoting common goals and following through on commitments.
  • Conveys information effectively through verbal written and presentations to stakeholders and team members both internal and external to AbbVie using appropriate communication protocols. Identifies ways to increase customer satisfaction. Documents agreements and commitments and keeps direct customers informed throughout the project or initiative.

         


Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science or closely related discipline is desired or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence.
Entry level position less than two years of experience is typical.
Ability to quickly gain knowledge understanding or skill and willingly absorb and comprehend AbbVie processes policies and methods. Possess good human relation skills in both implementing and coordinating efforts involved across several disciplines.
Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationship with internal and external collaborators.
Listens to and understands others points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully ones own perspective orally in writing and in presentations.
Works well with other engineers in a collaborative fast-paced goal-driven environment.
Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.
Ability to recognize risks versus the relative gains associated with actions.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that theCompany believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job gradefor this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors includinggeographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may bemodified in the future.

  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation holidays sick)medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
