Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to support ongoing infrastructure documentation and geographic information system (GIS) updates for a long-term contract role in Colorado Springs CO. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in utility infrastructure data management and GIS systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain GIS databases with accurate and current gas infrastructure information
- Act as a steward of authoritative documentation ensuring critical records and technical documents are up to date and accessible
- Assist with knowledge transfer processes serving as a resource for onboarding and training new staff
- Collaborate across departments to ensure data integrity and system consistency
- Leverage various tools and platforms to support day-to-day operations and documentation workflows
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with:
- MAXIMO (Asset Management)
- SharePoint
- ESRI (GIS Software)
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience in utility or gas infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with technical documentation standards
- Background in GIS data stewardship or asset management
