Job Description

Morningside University is looking to hire a part-time Administrative Coordinator to join the Physical Plant Team! This individual works with the Assistant Vice President of Facilities and Auxiliary Services assisting the Maintenance Manager Grounds Manager Custodial Manager Director of the Mside store and Print shop coordinator by managing the maintenance service order system and by performing various administrative work.

Responsibilities:

Physical Plant Service Order System

  • Provides pleasant and courteous service to all individuals.
  • Writes up service order tickets assigns the service order to the appropriate service tech. Maintenance Grounds or Custodial.
  • Logs in completed service order tickets.
  • Follows up on pass due service tickets.

Print Shop and Mailroom

  • Assist Print shop with large orders as needed.
  • Work with print shop on service work being performed on equipment.
  • Work with mailroom as needed at specific times of the year holidays school breaks and summer.

Mside store

  • Work with the Director of the Mside store in producing custom shirts.
  • Work with the Director of the Mside store in producing custom items on the laser engraver.
  • Assist the Mside store as needed in coverage on game days or during alumni events.

Administrative Duties

  • Orders parts and supplies.
  • Fills out monthly timecards for work study checks on adding and removing students.
  • Communicates with departments and building representatives in regards to scheduled and/or emergency repair work including shutting down of hot water systems plumbing systems HVAC systems and electrical systems.
  • Organize and update changes on blueprints on buildings and grounds.
  • Sets up training and certification for Physical Plant employee licensing and other training programs.
  • Answer and directs phone calls for the department.

Other:

  • Works with the AVP of Facilities and Resident Life Director assisting in student move in and move out.
  • Works with the AVP of Facilities and Resident Life Director assisting with Commencement.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to relate well to others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be multitask oriented with the ability to prioritize projects and work with several staff vendors and outside contractors
  • High School degree
