Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

LSP Capacity Strengthening and Service Improvement.

  1. Conduct gap and needs assessments as well as capacity assessments to identify areas for LSP improvement.
  2. Develop a coaching and / or mentoring plan to close gaps in consultation with relevant Specialists.
  3. Discuss identified capacity gaps with relevant Specialist and skills providers to support development of necessary capacity strengthening strategies.
  4. Implement capacity strengthening strategies with support from the relevant specialist.
  5. Identify and train new / replacement LSPs in consultation with the relevant Specialists.
  6. Meet nonparticipants to identify service delivery needs.

Quality Service Delivery Monitoring.

  1. Generate and document case stories case studies and stories of change to showcase LSP impact.
  2. Facilitate Pause and Reflect sessions offering insights and feedback to DM in collaboration with relevant Specialist and LSPs.
  3. Map/Validate groups and LSPs in the allocated wards.
  4. Monitor participant adoption of behaviors identify barriers and recommend action to address them.
  5. Monitor performance of existing LSP linkages.
  6. Distribute administer and collect participant registers and other forms.
  7. Monitor resilience income food and nutrition security indicators and progress within the wards and report on it.
  8. Conduct joint monitoring visits with (Govt. Private Local leaders other partners etc.)

Network Development and Linkages.

  1. Identify opportunities for linkages and partnerships through landscape mapping.
  2. Establish expand and strengthen networks across LSPs stakeholders and the private sector.
  3. Engage and sensitize stakeholders including public-private partnerships (PPP) on linkage opportunities to foster collaboration.
  4. Create communication channels/platforms for all LSPs (e.g. WhatsApp groups per LSP and all).
  5. Identity barriers and enhancers that may require further policy dialogue
  6. Establish or strengthen specific LSP networks/associations.
  7. Link LSPs with the relevant skills provider and established boards e.g. Gvt private other NGOs CBOs Zim Youth Council.
  8. Conduct community activities to create demand for LSP services (field days) food & seed fairs careers fairs cooking demos etc.)
  9. Create opportunities for highlighting LSP services (Community theater organize meetings conduct business symposiums).

Data Management and Reporting

  1. Collect capture and submit accurate and timely data related to LSP service performance capacity-building activities and network linkages.
  2. Ensure the quality and integrity of data and provide regular reports to supervisors.
  3. Attend and present technical issues and progress during monthly and / or quarterly district review meetings.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Nutrition Food Sciences Public Health Natural Resources Managements Business studies WASH Markets Livelihoods Youth Programing Community Engagement Social Sciences Gender Disaster Management Knowledge Management Development Studies Monitoring and Evaluation Social Behavior Change and related fields.
  • 2-3 years experience in rural development.
  • Detailed knowledge of the specific context issues and challenges related to community development in Zimbabwe.
  • Experience in community mobilization and sensitization/training in the fields of community development with an emphasis on food and nutrition security.
  • Proven knowledge of and experience in support and training of community participants in development work.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including experience of MS Word Excel MS Office Project.
  • Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the importance of gender and youth issues in community development.
  • Previous management experience on a MYAP DFAP or USAID-funded program is an added advantage
  • Experience with emergency food security programming is an advantage.
