Job Summary
AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Shipping & Receiving Lead at our Canton East facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will support and supervise the processes and procedures in the warehouse to maximize quality safety productivity and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming / outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.
- Studies shipping notices bills of lading invoices orders and other records to define shipping priorities work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping receiving schedules.
- Oversees incoming outgoing shipping activities to make sure accuracy completeness and condition of shipments. Takes photos for all material shipping.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks lays out position of shipment.
- Inspects loading operations to make sure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Tags all materials.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to work areas.
- Enters incoming orders into system and completed material.
- Posts weight shipping.
- Prepares bills of lading and obtains signed copies.
- Performs other duties as described by management.
- May assist workers in shipping receiving activities.
- Follows all safety policies and keeps work areas clean.
- Uses scales to weigh material in/out.
Qualifications :
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills needed
- Must have high attention to detail
- Basic knowledge and skill with Word Excel and iPad operating system.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
