Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Medical Affairs Director with extensive industry experience in hepatology. Reporting to the Executive Director USMA Liver & Covid Strategy the position will provide critical scientific leadership across the US liver portfolio and pipeline. This person must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in prior roles collaborating with US and Global teams.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Medical Leadership and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Acts as a scientific medical lead to foster alignment and collaboration between US and Global Medical Affairs team and other functions within the Development organization
  • Providestrategic medical leadership in USMA planning and lifecycle management across Gileads liver portfolio and ensure alignment to US local strategic cross-functional plans.
  • Communicate medical initiatives strategies data timelines and publication plans to crossfunctional stakeholders.
  • Provide bi-directional insights and updates to and fromcross-functional meetingsto inform USMA liver medical strategy.
  • Collaborate withCommercial Legal Regulatory Clinical Public/Government Affairs and other partner functions to lead or support cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

  • MD DO DNP DPA PharmD or other advanced health care degree with 10 years of clinical and/or industry experience
  • Relevant clinical experience in Hepatology is required
  • Excellent verbal written visual communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel up to 30 percent as required which may include occasional weekend travel is required


The salary range for this position is: $281010.00 - $363660.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation including experience qualifications and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role) paid time off and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical dental vision and life insurance plans*.
