Job Summary

As a Junior Network Administrator you are responsible for assisting in maintaining and supporting the organizations network infrastructure. This entry-level role involves ensuring reliable connectivity and secure communication to support immigration systems including case management and data exchange.

Responsibilities

Network Monitoring: Assist in monitoring network performance to ensure availability and reliability for all users.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic network issues under the guidance of senior network administrators.
System Setup: Help with the installation and configuration of network hardware such as routers switches and firewalls.
Security Support: Assist in implementing basic network security measures including updating firewalls and antivirus software.
Documentation: Maintain records of network configurations updates and troubleshooting activities.
User Support: Provide technical support to staff resolving network-related issues promptly.
Backup Assistance: Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure network integrity.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

Diploma or associate degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
1 2 years of experience in IT or network support (internship experience is acceptable).
Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing DNS and DHCP.
Basic understanding of network hardware including routers and switches.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools and software.
Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
Tanzanian national only.
