As a Junior Network Administrator you are responsible for assisting in maintaining and supporting the organizations network infrastructure. This entry-level role involves ensuring reliable connectivity and secure communication to support immigration systems including case management and data exchange.
Responsibilities
- Network Monitoring: Assist in monitoring network performance to ensure availability and reliability for all users.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic network issues under the guidance of senior network administrators.
- System Setup: Help with the installation and configuration of network hardware such as routers switches and firewalls.
- Security Support: Assist in implementing basic network security measures including updating firewalls and antivirus software.
- Documentation: Maintain records of network configurations updates and troubleshooting activities.
- User Support: Provide technical support to staff resolving network-related issues promptly.
- Backup Assistance: Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure network integrity.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Diploma or associate degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 1 2 years of experience in IT or network support (internship experience is acceptable).
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addressing DNS and DHCP.
- Basic understanding of network hardware including routers and switches.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools and software.
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
- Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
- Tanzanian national only.
