The Senior Service Manager is responsible for the operational leadership and management of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) with a primary focus on PACS/RIS solutions. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality imaging informatics services manages vendor relationships and leads cross-functional teams supporting both clinical and IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of PACS/RIS including system performance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Manage service delivery timelines resource planning and allocation.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and data protection standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) contingency plans and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate with support teams to handle escalations and resolve complex technical issues.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance coaching and support to team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement collaboration and professional growth.
- Lead and facilitate change management initiatives within imaging informatics.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g. DICOM HL7 GDPR).
- Conduct and oversee audits risk assessments and corrective actions.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance system performance reliability and user satisfaction.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Health Informatics Information Technology Radiology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing PACS/RIS systems ideally with Philips IntelliSpace PACS or Vue PACS.
- Strong understanding of radiology workflows and standards including DICOM HL7 and healthcare IT protocols.
- Proven track record in service delivery and operational management.
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Philips PACS/RIS certification or practical experience (nice to have)
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification (for project management)
