We are looking for a motivated and fast-learning Assistant Project Engineer with a background in Renewable Energy Engineering and hands-on internship experience in solar energy design. The ideal candidate is eager to grow in the renewable energy industry assist in technical project development and gain practical knowledge in solar PV systems hybrid systems and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct solar PV system design and energy yield assessments using PVsyst; conduct wind feasibility studies using WindPro.
- Support pre-feasibility and feasibility studies through site selection resource analysis and grid connection assessment.
- Prepare electrical design packages including single-line diagrams (SLDs) equipment layouts and string sizing using AutoCAD/Draftsight.
- Develop technical specifications BOQs and procurement documents for key equipment including inverters transformers MV stations and BESS.
- Design string configurations and electrical connection diagrams including PV string-to-inverter mapping.
- Assist in the design and simulation of solar PV systems using PVsyst and other modeling tools.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings such as single-line diagrams (SLDs) layout plans and string sizing (AutoCAD or SketchUp).
- Contribute to feasibility assessments including site visits data collection and preliminary resource analysis.
- Support development of BOQs and specifications for PV-related equipment (panels inverters cabling).
- Collaborate with engineering and GIS teams to ensure accuracy of designs and reports.
- Provide technical support in document preparation for permitting procurement and proposals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of project documentation and design procedure
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering or a related technical field.
- Internship or training experience in solar energy design (PV layout stringing sizing SLD).
- Proficiency in PVsyst Microsoft Excel and basic use of AutoCAD/SketchUp.
- Understanding of renewable energy technologies and basic electrical principles (MV/LV systems desirable).
- Quick learner with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally; Arabic is a plus.
