Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are seeking a Human Ethics and Regulatory Coordinator to join our Research Ethics Team within the Research and Integrity Office (RIO).

In this role you will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Research Ethics Team administering and facilitating regulatory approvals and ethics applications systems and committees including the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee (UAHPEC) and the Auckland Health Research Ethics Committee (AHREC).

You will be the first point of contact for ethics-related queries manage key workflows such as Minor Amendment Requests and Low Risk applications and maintain accurate records of committee activities. You will also play a vital role in onboarding new committee members supporting committee operations and ensuring processes meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and distributing agendas minutes and correspondence for committee meetings.
  • Assisting applicants with UAHPEC and AHREC applications and providing guidance on using Ethics RM.
  • Managing document systems tracking sheets and maintaining registers of committee membership.
  • Coordinating meetings events and related logistics.
  • Supporting data collation for audits and reporting.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed-term role for 9 months.

The salary range for this role is $62400 - $77800 per annum prorated depending on experience and qualifications.

The Research Ethics Team works closely with researchers committee members and regulatory bodies to ensure ethical best practice across the Universitys research activities.
