- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial buildings in accordance with Australian codes and standards.
- Lead and document seismic design of new and existing structures including peer reviews and checks.
- Develop coordinate and review 2D/3D models and drawings (Revit CAD) for concept detailed design and construction documentation.
- Utilise modular framing systems for secondary structures selecting and detailing standard welded sections to optimise fabrication and installation.
- Conduct value engineering on existing and proposed designs to improve constructability reduce cost and programme risk and maintain performance.
- Coordinate closely with hydraulic electrical and mechanical services to resolve interfaces penetrations loads and maintenance/access requirements.
- Prepare design reports specifications calculation packages BOM s and RFI responses; and support tender queries as required.
- Participate in internal design reviews verification/validation and quality assurance processes.
- Liaise with clients architects builders and fabricators; represent the company in meetings and workshops (remotely via zoom or MS Teams).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of standards details and BIM workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 5 years structural engineering experience in the Australian commercial sector.
- Demonstrated seismic analysis and design expertise.
- Proven experience integrating structural designs with hydraulic electrical and mechanical services.
- Hands-on use of Revit and 2D/3D drafting/BIM systems for structural documentation.
- Experience applying modular framing systems for secondary structures and detailing standard welded sections.
- Track record of value engineering and delivering cost-effective buildable solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Australian codes/standards (e.g. NCC; AS/NZS 1170 incl. earthquake; AS 4100 AS 3600 AS/NZS 4600 etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with an Australia-based team in a remote environment.
Desirable
- Chartered status (CPEng/NER) and/or state-based registration (e.g. RPEQ) or eligibility/willingness to obtain.
- Experience with analysis/design software such as ETABS SAP2000 SpaceGass RAM Concept or similar.
- Exposure to steel/concrete connection design shop drawing review and DfMA/off-site fabrication.
- Familiarity with construction phase services: site inspections ITPs NCR resolution.
Technical Competencies
